About Spare

My photo
Alex Spare
Littleton, CO, United States
I'm 37 years old from Albuquerque, NM, although technically my parents moved me from Boston to ABQ when I was two. I live in Littleton, Colorado and have for almost nine years. I'm beginning my tenth year as a high school English teacher, but I've worked with teenagers since I was nineteen. Before getting my high school certification, I worked as a golf course attendant, a liquor store grunt, a summer camp backpacking counselor, a waiter, an ESL teacher, and a stocker for Arizona Iced Tea. I am married to Christina Spare, a totally foxy assistant principal, and I have three brilliant, rambunctious boys: Sam, Henry and William--8, 6, and 5. On the side, I write as much as I can. I just completed co-authoring an ACT prep guide, published by Barron's in April of 2009.
